Meeting Topic: Security Management is a Marathon. The Boston Marathon has changed dramatically from both the runners and spectators perspective over the last 100 years. Technical and training advancements, significant prize money, global awareness, and heighten security precautions have changed the event results and experience. Enterprise Security Management has also changed dramatically due to technology, significant monetary gains, and global attacks of any size company. There will be multiple presentations updating you on the latest security trends, risks, and strategies from a couple of security industry leaders as well as digital media handling challenges in the investigation of the Boston Marathon bombing.

SPECIAL AGENT KEVIN SWINDON
LAB DIRECTOR – NEW ENGLAND REGIONAL COMPUTER FORENSIC LAB FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION, BOSTON MA USA SA Swindon is currently assigned to the Boston Division’s CYBER Criminal Intrusion Program and is the first Laboratory Director of the newly formed New England Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory, which entailed establishing and managing all aspects of the highly-coveted FBI-sponsored cutting-edge lab. SA Swindon has traveled extensively overseas in support of both significant criminal and national security investigations. He was first assigned to the Newark, NJ office of the FBI and most recently testified as the computer forensic expert for the Boston Marathon Bombing trial. He has obtained his BS in Industrial Management from the University of Lowell and his MBA from Northeastern University and recently completed a Master’s of Science in Finance from Boston College.
Kevin’s briefing will include an overview of the investigative highlights of the Boston Marathon Bombing investigation and will include discussions of digital media evidence collection, cyber analytical aspects, trial preparation and testimony. The topic will also provide insight to the audience regarding the digital media handling challenges and investigative strategy surrounding the events of April 15, 2013 and the Boston Marathon Bombing Investigation while highlighting the lessons learned and after action response.
